Abstract

PURPOSE: To work end faces of pipes uniformly and well in any position of their circumferential direction by differing the diameter of one of inner and outer pressure rollers which run a working machine with a melt-cutter circumferentially along he end face of the pipe by the difference from the end face of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: When an inner roller 13 is pressed to the inside circumferential surface of a pipe 8 to be worked with a pressing means 18 and a DC motor 11 is driven, a body 1 of the working machine begins to move circumferentially along the end face 8a of the pipe with the aid of the revolution of an outer roller 14. The moving speed of this time is proportional to the rotating speed of the motor 11, and it is also possible to maintain the same constant. the roller 14 consists of a pair of gears 23, 24, and since the diameter of the gear 23 on the side nearer the end face 8a is larger than that of the gear 24 on the further side, the peripheral speed of the gear 23 is higher and a traveling guide roller 12 is brought in tight contact with the end face 8a at all times. As a result, the flame direction of a nozzle burner 7 intersects orthogonally with the tangential direction in the circumferential part of the pipe in any position on the end face 8a, and the uniform and good melt-cutting and working for the groove are accomplished.
