Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a differential amplifier which performs high-speed operation and has wide voltage range, by connecting the outputs of two level shifting circuits to the inputs of two phase inverting amplifier, and providing negative feedback from the output of the 1st phase inverting amplifier to the level shifting circuits.
CONSTITUTION: Input voltages VI1 and VI2 are applied to the gates of depletion type FETs F11 and F12 in voltage generating circuits 1 and 2 which consist of cascaded depletion type FETs F11 and F12, and F21 and F22 and function as level shifting circuits. Voltages shifted in level at the drains of the FF12 and F22 are applied to phase inverting and amplifying circuits 11 and 12 each having the same characteristics and a high gain. The negative feedback of the output of the circuit 11 to the gate of the F12 and the quasi-negative feedback to the gate of the F22 are performed, and differential outputs which correspond to two inputs are obtained from the output terminals O1 and O2 of the circuits 11 and 12. In accorance with the voltage VI1, the F12 is brought under negative feedback control by the output of the circuit 11, and the drain output of F11 becomes stable while nearly equal to the threshold voltages of the circuits 11 and 12.
