Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a slide of a chuck by compensating the thickness variation of a sample by providing two chuck arm tip, press-contacting the sample in the opposite direction to sample displacement, rotatably on a fixed point and opposite each other. CONSTITUTION:A chuck 12 fixed on the tension shaft 10 of a tester has arm tips 20' and 20'' which are fixed to be inserted into and extracted from screw holes of holders 16' and 16'' freely rotatable on supporting shafts 14 and 14'' of points 18' and 18'', and press-contact a sample from both its sides at an acute angle alpha in the opposite direction to the displacement of the sample. A sample 26 is chucked through surface plates 24' and 24'' engaged with a slidable engaging mechanism 22, such as a supporting shaft and cylindrical recess rotatable along the surface of the sample at any time without reference to those arm tips. As the sample 26 is drawn, the arm tips 20' and 20'' rotates while becoming horizontal and the surface plates 24' and 24'' intrude into the sample 26, whose terminal 39 swells over the surface plates 24' and 24'', so that the sample 26 will not slide on the chuck 12.
