Abstract

PURPOSE:To set the Japanese words of an electronic dictionary to an order equal to an ordinary Japanese word dictionary, by displaying the KANA codes and the KANA letters with the character information comprising the flag codes showing the types of the KANA letter such as a voiced spot, semivoiced spot, long sound and small letter respectively. CONSTITUTION:When the words within a dictionary ROM21 are researched, a word is supplied from a key input part 2. Thus this input word is supplied to an A register 23 under the control of a CPU20. An address control circuit 22 designates the address to the ROM21 successively at and after the preset head address to read the words sequentially and to supply them to a B register 24. The input word in the register 23 is compared with the word in the register 24 through a comparator 25 to decide the coincidence or dissidence between both words. At the same time, the decision result signal is applied to the CPU20.
