Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a barometer simple in structure, easy to operate and can be incorporated as a part of function of a clock, by detecting frequency of oscillation in atmosphere and vacuum and calculating and indicating atmospheric pressure or altitude. CONSTITUTION:Output signals of a crystal oscillator 1 sealed in a vecuum container passes through binary divider 2 of 15 steps and one second signal is converted to time information by a clock counter 3. The signals are displayed in an indicator 7 through a switchover circuit 4, decoder 5, driving circuit 6. On the other hand, intermediate or final output of the divider 2 is inputted to a control circuit 12 to reset a counter 9. The gate is then opened for a specified time to count signals from a crystal oscillator 8 in the atmosphere. The output is stored in memory 10 and atmospheric pressure and altitude are calculated from the count of frequency in vaccum and the difference in an arithmetic circuit 13 and indicated 7 through the switchover circuit 4 and a switch 11. This is simple in structure, easy to operate and can be incorporated in a part of a clock.
