Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure smooth engine operation by a method wherein a reciprocally moving body reciprocating between the inside and the outside of an exhaust gas passage is provided therein and, by mounting a dust collecting plate to said reciprocally moving body, fine particles in an exhaust gas are taken out externally to eliminate clogging of the exhaust gas passage.
CONSTITUTION: Fine particles in an exhaust gas passing through a discharge region 2 are deflected to directions of cylindrical rotors 6, 7 by the action of an auxiliary electrode plate 12 and, while said fine particles in the exhaust gas are collected one after another by the action of a dust collecting electrode plate, said fine particles in the exhaust gas are scraped off by brushes 15, 16 and, by repeating this process, recovered in a dust collecting container 18 as well as the exhaust gas in an exhaust gas passage 1 is purified simultaneously. In this manner, the fine particles in the exhaust gas are not accumulated in the exhaust gas passage 1 and the clogging thereof can be prevented. As the result, the raising of exhaust gas pressure can be avoided and normal operation of an engine can be ensured.
