Abstract

PURPOSE:To change over a mode in which a recovered toner is used, or a mode in which unrecovered toner is used, by changing the rotary direction of one auger. CONSTITUTION:A recovered toner which has been removed by a cleaning device 6 is led to the first toner reservoir 7 by an auger, etc. The recovered toner of the toner reservoir 7 is carried in the direction 20 by a rotation of the first auger 8, and is led to the second toner reservoir 12. The recovered toner led to the toner reservoir 12 is carried in either the direction 21 or 22 by a rotation of the second auger 13 and its rotary direction. When driving the second auger 13, both its forward and reverse rotations can be executed by a motor 14. In case when the recovered toner is reused, the toner is carried in the direction 21, for instance, by rotating the motor 14 in the forward direction, and is led to a toner replenishing device 19 placed so as to be opposed to the auger 13. In case when the recovered toner is not used, it is carried in the direction 22 by rotating the motor 14 in the reverse direction, and is led to a toner recovering bottle 18.
