Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve symmetry and linearity and obtain a linear displacement sensor with a small size and high reliability by installing a magnetism/electricity conversion element opposite to a pair of magnetic poles of a magnetism generating body and connecting them so as to add outputs of both. CONSTITUTION:A pair of magnetic reluctance effect (MR) elements 6 and 7 are arranged at the N pole and S pole of a magnet 5, and each of electric current terminals m, n and m', n' is connected to the electric power source 8, and the output terminals a and a' are connected to an amplifier 9 to form a bridge circuit comprising resistances R1, R2 and resistances R3 and R4 of the MR elements 6 and 7. An output is obtained at the amplifier 9 by the relative displacement between MR elements 6 and 7 and the magnet 5. With this arrangement the symmetry and linearity are improved and a linearity sensor with a small size and high reliability is obtained.
