Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous operation of a semiconductor device owing to the irregular temperature of a semiconductor element by providing a heater on a substrate adhered fixedly with the element and controlling the temperature of the element by a control circuit, thereby maintaining the temperature of the element constant. CONSTITUTION:A temperature detector 2 and functional elements or function circuits 31-37 are formed on a semiconductor element 1. The temperature of the element 1 is detected by the detector 2, and is converted to a voltage via a temperature-to-voltage converter 31. The voltage is compared by a comparator 33 with a reference voltage separately produced by a reference voltage generator 32, the difference signal from the comparator is amplified by an amplifier 34, and a current control circuit 35 operates to flow a current responsive to the magnitude of the difference signal through a heater, therby controlling the quantity of heat of a resistance heater 5. The quantity of heat by the heater 5 is transferred to the detector 2 through a thermal feedback circuit 36, thereby maintaining the temperature of the element 1 constant.
