Abstract
PURPOSE: An acaricide, prepared by incorporating benzomate having reduced acaricidal effect in a simple chemical due to the inactivated chemical resistance with a specific benzimidazole compound, capable of giving the practical control effect to the benzomate, and having improved effects by the synergistic action even at a low concentration.
CONSTITUTION: An acaricide prepared by incorporating benzomate (ethyl O- benzoyl 3-chloro-2,6-dimethoxybenzohydroximate), expressed by formulaI, and useful for controlling mainly citrus red mite or European red mite in a tangerine (Citrus unshiu) on dilution to a concentration ≥100ppm with a benzimidazole compound, capable of exhibiting improved effects as a germicide on dilution to a concentration of about 200ppm, and expressed by formula II (R is H or butylcarbamoyl) at a mixing weight ratio between the benzomate and the benzimidazole compound of (1W5):(5W1). The acaricide is effective against tetranychids of fruit trees, e.g. mandarin oranges or apples, strawberries, eggplants, vegetables, tea plants or forests.
