Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a CD element whose pattern is formed easily and so shaped that transfer characteristics are improved, by using a cross pattern, whose length in a transfer direction is coincident with a pattern period, for periodic transfer pattern elements. CONSTITUTION:The transfer pattern elements of a contiguous disk bubble magnetic domain element which has a periodic transfer pattern formed by linking the transfer pattern elements mutually without any gap use a cross pattern whose length in a transfer direction is coincident with a pattern period P. For example, the depth (a) of a cusp part 21 is set about a quarter the pattern period P, and its bottom width 2b is set about a half the pattern period, forming the periodic pattern with the 4mum pattern period P. During pattern formation, the slight rounding of corners of the projection parts and recessed parts of the pattern as shown by broken lines 23 is acceptable.
