Abstract

PURPOSE:To construct an automobile dashboard with less weight and high bending strength by setting a stiffening board, formed into a single unit together with top and bottom plates, into a hollow tubular body, which is formed by air- blowing synthetic resin parison. CONSTITUTION:A main body of an automobile dashboard 1 is made up into a single hollow tubular body with side walls 7 at the peripheries of top and bottom plates 5 and 6. Within the main body, stiffening boards 10 and 11, formed into a single unit, are set lengthwise and crosswise across the top and bottom plates 5 and 6, which therefore, are stoutly secured by the peripheral side walls 7 and the internal stiffening boards 10 and 11 producing larger secondary moment and higher bending strength.
