Abstract

PURPOSE: A transparent spacer is laid between two glass panes and isolated hollow parts are formed between both glass panes and the spacer to produce the objective laminated glass panes of high strength and lightweight.
CONSTITUTION: The transparent spacer 3 and the frame 4 are laid between two glass panes 1 and 2. The spacer 3 is made to adhere to the glass panes with a transparent adhesive such as epoxy resin or polyvinyl butyral. Then, the peripheral edges of the glass panes are bonded through the frame 4 by fusing with laser beam or electron beam. Thus, the hollow part 5 is isolated from the outside. When the hollow parts are made vacuum, a corner of the frame 4 is bored with a laser beam to form a hole for vacuum 6 and the hollow part is vacuumed through the hole. Then, the hole is closed by fusing with glass or transparent resin.
