Abstract
898,981. Multi-pane elements. PARTSCH, E. March 4, 1959, No. 7567/59. Class 20(3) The panes 1, 1<SP>1</SP> of a multi-pane element are affixed to the frame 3 by two different cementing compounds for sealing the cavity 5 viz., an inner cement layer 2 of polyisobutylene and an outer layer 4 of an epoxide resin. One pane may have a reflecting gold or copper surface layer. One pane may be constituted by a filtering glass or plastic elements. The cavity 5 may be filled with a gas e.g. C.Cl 2 F 2 or CO 2 having a poorer heat transmission than air. A pane may be of multi-ply glass, e.g. containing a temperature sensitive intermediate layer, transparent at say 20‹C. but which becomes milky at say 30‹C.
