Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate coating work and improve recovery by pressing the flux filled in the cylinder and detecting the flux pushed out from a coating nozzle and starting supply of the core automatically. CONSTITUTION:A wave transmitter 10 of a small-sized ultrasonic sensor and a detecting mechanism such as a wave receiver 11 etc. are installed near a coating nozzle 8 placed at the tip of a die block 1. The intensity of ultrasonic wave sent from the transmitter 10 is weakened slightly by an uncoated core wire 12 and arrives at the receiver 11 and converted to a fixed electrical signal. Pressure is applied to cakelike flux, and when the flux 4 starts to flow out from the coating nozzle 8 and the intensity of ultrasonic wave received by the receiver attenuated remarkably. This is detected and supply of core wire is started. By this way, imperfectly-coated welding rot put out is limited to the initial one and recovery is improved.
