PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a fixing roller by covering a peeling pawl, which prevents paper from winding itself around the fixing roller by touching the roller, with a material softer than the fluororesin of the fixing roller. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller base material 4 is coated with fluororesin 3, and a peeling pawl which comes into contact with the resin 3 to prevent paper from winding itself around the roller has a coating layer 2 on its base material 1. This coating layer 2 is softer than or as hard as the fluororesin 3, and its resisting temperature in continuous use is >=150 deg.C. To form the coating layer 2, the part of the pawl base material 1 made of polyamide which touches the fixing roller 3 is applied with an FEP-resin dispersed solution, which is dried and baked at 350 deg.C.
