Abstract
PURPOSE:To expand the dynamic range of a receiving part by arranging a stop in the automatic tracking system which tracks missiles and the like and controlling the quantity of input light to an optical detector. CONSTITUTION:The output of the receiving part 4 is converted into DC by a DC converter 5, and the obtained signal is sent to an AGC part 6. The output signal of said AGC part 6 is supplied to an amplifier 3 of the receiving part as an automatic gain control signal. The output of the AGC part 6 is also supplied to a stop control part 9. The stop 10 is controlled by the output of the control part 9, and the quantity of the input light to the optical detector 2 is controlled. In this constitution, the ratio of the quantity of light becomes pir2<2>/pir1<2>, where the effective radius of the optical system when the stop 10 is opened is r1 and the effective radius when the stop is fully closed is r2, and the ratio is reduced. As the whole receiver part 4, however, the dynamic range is expanded by the attenuated quantity B1(dB) due to the stop 10.
