Abstract

PURPOSE:To highly precisely detect concentration of inflammable gas in air without being affected by ethanole, by a method wherein a gas filter, mounted around a gas responsing product, is formed by the use of CaCl2. CONSTITUTION:A gas filter, mounted around an inflammable gas responsing product 1, is formed by the use of CaCl2. Ethanole in air, or gas, is caused to make a chemical reaction to CaCl2 of the gas filter 2 as shown in a formula to prepare a molecular compound to selectively free of the ethanole. Gas to be detected, e.g., hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, butane and the like, does not react to CaCl2, and as a result, it is prevented from damaging a gas detecting sensitivity. CaCl2 gets rid of moisture in air as well, and this permits it to be prevented from changing of its detecting sensitivity to gas to be detected due to humidity in air to improve reliability of a gas sensor. Additionally, it has an ammonia gas absorption ability, which results in enabling to perform a high- precise detection of inflammable gas being not affected thereby.
