Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover part of liquid helium and to miniaturize a heater and a gas bag, by providing a liquid helium tank at the outside of a cryostat, providing a pressure keeping expansion valve in the inside thereof, and communicating the expansion valve and the cryostat by a heat insulated pipe. CONSTITUTION:The cryostat 1 is constructed such that a liquid He 2 is enclosed and a superconductive magnet 3 is immersed therein, and the heater 4 are connected in series, while a compressor 6 and gas cylinders 7 are connected to the heater 4 in series, too. The gas bag 5 is branched from the intermediate point between the heater 4 and the compressor 6. The magnet is cooled to about 4.2Kby the liquid He. The evaporated He gas is heated to the normal temperature by the heater and stored in the gas bag. When the bag is filled up, the gas is compressed by the compressor to high pressure and stored in the cylinders. In this constitution, the liquid He tank 10 incorporating the pressure keeping expansion valve 9 is provided between the cryostat 1 and the heater 4, and connected to the cryostat 1 by the heat insulated pipe 8. One half or more of the gas passing the valve 9 is liquefied and stored in the tank 10.
