Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to discharge ashes outside the combustion furnace in their dried and high temperature condition together with a powdered adiabatic material such as lime by a method wherein a conveyer is stretched oven the bottom of the combustion furnace and a device for supplying the powdered adiabatic material is provided above one side of the conveyer.
CONSTITUTION: When the combustion furnace is operated and the ashes fall down from the bottom 2 of the furnace, the continuous flow conveyer 4 is rotated in one direction and the device 6 for supplying the powdered adiabatic material such as lime 13 begins to start. Consequently, the lime 13 is supplied on the upper surface of the lower stretch of the conveyer 4, especially at the starting point of the stretch and as the conveyer 4 advances, the lime 13 is filled uniformly into the clearance between attachements 12 by means of a scraper 17. Under the above condition, the ashes 8 fall down on a layer of the lime on the conveyer and then into a discharge port 7 together with the lime so as to be discharged outside the combustion furnace.
