Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the printer for a hand labeler of which thermal printing head can be reduced in size and which is capable of pasting labels to items simultaneously with their printing by the adoption of such a construction wherein labels made of heat sensitive printing sheet are caused to contact with the thermal printing head for printing. CONSTITUTION:A strip of label 2 is manufactured by heat sensitive printing sheet composed of a heat sensitive layer coated on the surface of a sheet such as paper, etc. and its back side facing to a label supporting member 1 is coated with a layer of adhesive such as pressure sensitive adhesive, etc. A thermal printing head 9 and a platen 10 are arranged so that they are separated from each other normally, and they are caused to operate in response to a heat generating element 9b which is activated by print signals from a control circuit 11 and image lines 12 such as characters are printed by causing the head 9 to pressure contact with the platen 10.
