Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the insertion of articles of multiple types into a socket by turning the direction of an electronic part to meet the shape of the part by a part operating mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a semiconductor device 11 is dropped from a part supply unit through a chute 14, a stopper 15 stops the device 11 at the prescribed position. A spiral spring 16 holds the device 11. The device 11 is then faced with a socket 12 by turning a part operating mechanism 13 at 90 deg. together with the operation of a rack 17 and a pinion 18 as well as a cam in this state. The rack 17 and the pinion 18 are moved linearly in a direction of the socket by the cam from this state, thereby inserting the device 11 into the socket 12.
