Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain electrode surfaces normally and operate an Cottrel precipitator having a hammering device with stable dust precipitation effect by detecting the spark flashover frequencies owing to dust deposition on electrodes and operating the hammer in said precipitator. CONSTITUTION:Dust precipitating electrodes 2 are provided opposite to a discharge electrode 1 of a dust precipitator, and a hammering device is mounted to the electrodes 2. A discharge space is formed between the electrode 1 and the electrodes 2, by means of a DC high voltage rectifier device 10, so that the dust in dusty gases is precipitated through said gas on the electrodes 2. When the dust precipitates thickly and a spark is produced between both electrodes, the frequencies thereof are detected with a spark flashover frequency detector 6. A controller 7 is operated by the detection signal thereof to drive an electric motor 4 for hammering, by which the hammering device 3 is opeated to dislodge the dust stuck on the electrodes 2. In case there are no detection signals, the hammering device 3 is operated at constant time intervals.
