Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent clogging of dust in catalysts by setting the length of unit catalyst elements at roughly the same length as that of the approach running section where the distribution of velocities of flow goes steady in subjecting waste gases contg. NOx to a denitration treatment by using honeycomb catalysts. CONSTITUTION:Honeycomb catalysts of dust through type disposed in plural pieces are used as catalysts for denitration for the purpose of reducing and removing harmful NOx from gases cotg. NOx and dust such as industrial waste gases. In this case, the respective catalyst elements having roughly the same length as that of the approach running section where the velocities of flow of the gases in pipes are within a non-steady range. Thereby, the infeasibility of the long- term use of the catalysts on account of clogging of the catalysts with the dust contained in the waste gases and consequent abrupt pressure drop is prevented.
