Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to replace a secondary filter periodically by a simple constitution, by providing a filter on a suction port of a subblower for ventilation. CONSTITUTION:When a head disk assembly 1 of a magnetic disk device is operated, a main blower 17 is operated, a main shutter 12 is opened by air which has passed through a primary filter 18, a subshutter 16 is closed through a wire 11, clean air passes through a secondary filter in a chamber 9, is blown into the assembly 1 through an air hose 8 and an air duct 7, and is exhausted to the outside of an air flapper 21 and a base plate 19 through an exhaust port 22 provided in the lower part of a magnetic circuit 6. When the assembly 1 is not operated, the main blower 17 is stopped, the main shutter 12 is closed, the subshutter 16 is opened, and air which has passed through the filter 15 is exhausted through the same path by a subblower 14. In this way, it becomes unnecessary to replace a secondary filter 10 periodically.
