Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the shrinkage fitting by mounting the one foot chip of approximately L-shaped fixing metal on the inner circumferential face of a metal band while the other foot chip on a cradle while projecting to the outside. CONSTITUTION:A bulb 3 of a cathode ray tube is shrinkage fitting a metal band 5 through fixing metal 4 to the outer-circumference of a bulb face section 3a. Said fixing metal 4 has the approximately L-shaped cross-section where a guide groove 4b contacting with the inner-circumferential face of a metal band 5 is formed in one foot chip 4a. Under the state where the guide groove 4b, the tip section of one foot chip 4a of the fixing metal 4 is supported on the step section of the cradle 6 while the fixing hole 4c of the other foot chip 4d is inserted into a guide pin 6b of the cradle 6 then the bulb 3 is lowered and pressure inserted through a heated metal band 5. Consequently the pressure insertion is facilitated without being damaged by the corner of the band 5.
