Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the overall recording capacity, by dividing a data recording plane into concentric disk blocks and making the recording capacity for each length on a track uniform with a specific means. CONSTITUTION:A data recording plane is divided into 4 blocks #OBK-#3BK, and the read/write clock is switched with every block. Then the recording bit number is made to uniform with every unit distance toward the circumference of a circle on each block track. For instance, the division of the logical track is made to correspond to the division corresponding to the physical track on the block #3BK in consideration of the logical track. Then the division of the logical track has a correspondence with every 8KB for the track on the block #2BK. For the division of the logical track, the bit density on a recording medium can be made to uniform for each block by recording the index information on the track.
