Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the handling of a typeprinter, by detecting position information on a loaded blank sheet, storing the position information in a memory, and controlling a typeprinting operation onto the blank sheet on th basis of the position information.
CONSTITUTION: A controller further shifts a carriage 5 rithtwards by one character (one column) and adds +1 to a register R1, to recognize the width of a loaded blank sheet. After the controller raises the content of the register R1 by +1, the controller recognizes the existence or absence of the blank sheet through an interface. If there is the blank sheet, the controller shifts the carriage 5 by one character and controls to add +1 to the register R1. Thus, the existence or absence of the blank sheet is recognized, whenever the carriage 5 is shifted by every one character. When the blank sheet is used up, the controller sets a value, which is produced by addition of a datum corresponding to a distance between a typeprinting head and a sensor to the register R1, into a register R3. Thereafter, the controller shifts the carriage 5 to a left margin position, and completes the control.
