Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled stabilizer, prepared by incorporating a phosphate compound with a specific phenolic antioxidant, and having reduced dispersion permeability of an oxidizing agent into a rubber, high antioxidant effect and color tone stability.
CONSTITUTION: 5W50wt% one or more trisphenolic antioxidant is mixed with 95W50wt% phosphate compound, expressed by the formula O=P(OR)3 (R is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, haloalkyl, alkylphenyl or phenyl), preferably a compound which is a liquid at ordinary temperature, e.g. triethyl phosphate. The stabilizer is economical due to the small amount of expensive phenolic antioxidant to be used. The resultant composition in an amount of 0.1W20wt% is added to a synthetic rubber. The synthetic rubber containing the stabilizer is light colored or light colored and transparent, and suitable for blending resins.
