Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance processing accuracy by heating the part to be heated of a material to be worked with a laser beam, and selectively performing mechanical deformation work on the former heated part by means of a work mechanism provided near the former heated part. CONSTITUTION:A quartz tube (P), a material to be worked, is supported inside a case 1 by means of a chuck mechanism 2, while, a laser beam (Q), after passing through a laser device 3, is irradiated on the side surface of the tube (P) so as to heat the side surface. In the laser device 3, the laser beam (Q) sent from a laser tube 4 is introduced by being reflected with reflection mirrors 5-8, while, cylindrical bodies 11, 9 and 10 of the device 3 are rotationally arranged in relation to the case 1, so that the entire side surface of the material to be worked, may be heated. In addition, a pincher 16 is provided near the chuck equipment 2, with which deformation work is selectively performed on the heated part of the tube (P). By the means mentioned above, processing accuracy can be enhanced and uniform work can be realized.
