Abstract
PURPOSE: To restore brightness of a phosphor reduced by dispersion, by mixing a dispersed zinc sulfide phosphor with a specified additive followed by heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: After a zinc sulfide phosphor prepd. by a common method and sieved is dispersed in water by ball milling, 0.01W2.0wt% at least one additive selected from silicon oxide and aluminum oxide is added to and mixed with the phosphor, which is dried and then subjected to heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere at 400W1,000°C.
EFFECT: It is possible to enhance brightness with the degree of dispersion of the phosphor being kept and to enhance brightness of the coated face of a cathode ray tube.
