Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize a brake feeling by making a stopper member fit to a valve plunger into contact with the internal face of a closed housing to restrict a retracted position of the valve plunger, thereby performing the precise restriction of the retracted position.
CONSTITUTION: A stopper member 31 is composed of a fitting part 31b having a V-shaped notch 31a therein and an arced contact part 31c. The fitting part 31b of said stopper member 31 is inserted through a penetration hole 32 in a power piston 5 and a valve plunger 23 is slidably fit in said notch 31a. The stopper member 31 is capabale of being shifted in the axial direction of the power piston 5 as long as a certain distance (l1) with respect to the penetration hole 32. With a brake power amplifier inoperative, the fitting part 31b of the stopper member 31 is elastically in contact with the forward end face of the penetration hole 32. The contact part 31c is made into contact with the inner face of a rear housing 3 and the stopper part 23a of the valve plunger 23 is in contact with the stopper member 31.
