Abstract
PURPOSE: To collect an electric current at a range of high speed from a trolley wire of less looseness without providing a hard spot in suspension of the trolley wire for an electric motor vehicle or the like, by providing a turnable supporting metal fitting to the central part of a balance arm and arranging lifting force of an ear, mounted to said arm, in such a manner as to reduce from the central part to both ends of said arm.
CONSTITUTION: A suspension device 1 is provided with a balance arm 4 turnably suspended from an insulator 2, mounted to a supporting strut, through a supporting metal fitting 3, and ears 5 are mounted at a prescribed interval to intermediate and both end parts of said arm to hold a trolley wire 6. The ear 5 is mounted to the balance arm 4 through a coil spring 7. The spring 7 is housed in a prescribed part of the balance arm 4, and a top end of the ear 5 is stopped to an intermediate part of the spring 7, then the trolley wire 6 is lifted by repulsive force of the spring 7, here its spring constant is selectively arranged in such a manner that its lifting force is large in the central part and reduced toward both end parts of said arm. Accordingly, the trolley wire is formed to catenary curved shape to remove looseness or concentrated hard spot and eliminate its abnormal wear.
