Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce a crossover distortion, by changing a current source of a bias circuit according to a bias voltage.
CONSTITUTION: A bias voltage for transistors (TRs) 3, 4 of an output stage is converted into a current in response to the bias voltage with transistors (TRs) 10, 26 and 11, 32 constituting a current mirror circuit. This current is smoothed and converted into a DC voltage, which controls current source TRs 9, 20 of a bias circuit 41 through a variable current source circuit 43 and a voltage between terminals of resistors 12, 13, allowing to change the operating point of the output stage TRs 3, 4. In this case, the current is determined so that the crossover distortion can not be generated with a resistor 17. Although a variable current I1 is reduced when the bias voltage is decreased, the current is kept constant which generates no minimized crossover distortion.
