Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve removal efficiency and suppress the entrainment of dust by the treated waste gases by forming fluidized layers of a fine alkaline agent in a reaction chamber and providing a nodular stopper at the stage of neutralizing and removing harmful acidic gases such as SOx, HCl and the like with the alkaline agent.
CONSTITUTION: The harmful acidic gases contg. SOx, HCl, etc. produced from an incineration furnace or other industrial furnace 4 are cooled in a heat exchanger 5, after which they are passed through the diffusion plate 3 in the bottom part of a reaction chamber 1 and is inroduced into the chamber 1. A granular alkaline agent such as slaked lime, CaCO3, CaO, dolomite or the like is supplied into the chamber 1 by means of a screw conveyor 8. A nodular stopper 10 is provided in the upper part of the chamber 1, and the treated gases are passed through this stopper and are discharged through a gas release pipe 9. Fluidized and fixed beds 13 of the microgranular alkaline agent and the product of reaction are formed with the waste gases blown upward through the plate 3 in the lower part of the chamber 1, and are discharged through a discharge pipe 12 so that the inclustion of micro dust into the treated gas to be discharged through the pipe 9 is prevented.
