Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the high performance operation free from carryover and side leak possible by controlling the rate of sludge suply in accordance with the thickness amt. of the sludge on a lower filter cloth and the rate of the sludge discharged from the side ends of the upper and lower filter cloths which are held pressed, in a belt press.
CONSTITUTION: Level sensors LAH, LAL detecting high and low of sludge liquid levels are provided to a part of a gravity dehydration section, and further, a side leak detector LS is provided from a dehydration zone to a pressure dehydration zone. When either of the sensor LAH or LS or both thereof detect the sludge, the rate of sludge supply from a flocculation and granulation vessel 6 is lowered by one rank each to the amt. of the sludge at which both LAH and LS do not detect. Conversely, when both LSL and LS do not detect the sludge, it is because the device is operated under its capacity and therefore the amt. of the sludge is increased by one rank each until only the sensor LAL detects the sludge. The control of the rate of sludge supply from the vessel 6 is accomplished with a sludge feed pump 15 and a chemical feed pump 16.
