Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress a spike voltage, which is generated just after turn-off of a GTO, to prevent malfunctions, by connecting a capacitor in parallel to a snubber diode of a circuit where the snubber diode and a snubber capacitor are connected in series. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit consisting of a snubber diode 2 and a snubber capacitor 4 is connected in parallel to a GTO1. A snubber resistance 3 is connected in parallel to the snubber diode 2, and a capacitor 6 is connected in parallel to the snubber diode 2. A spike voltage generated just after turn-off of the GTO1 is suppressed by this capacitor 6 to prevent erroneous ignition of the GTO and the malfunction of a control circuit.
