Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily extract a stable single optical pulse, by detecting it by use of a difference of magnitude of adjacent pulses of an optical pulse train from a laser. CONSTITUTION:An optical pulse train from a laser 1 is converted to a pulse train of an electric signal by detector 2, and it is made an input of the next comparator 5. The comparator 5 compares a threshold level set in advance with the pulse train of its electric signal. A result of comparison is sent to the next pulse generator 6, and the pulse generator 6 is constituted so as to generate a pulse when the optical pulse has exceeded a threshold level for the first time. Accordingly, by this pulse, an optical shutter 4 is operated, and a single optical pulse can be extracted. In this way, since it can be executed irrespective of stability of the optical pulse train from the laser, a stable single optical pulse is extracted easily.
