Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a free selection of steering characteristics by holding with a "C"-spring, on the circumference of a valve sleeve, both a projection integrated with a valve rotor and a projection provided on an output shaft, and by making the spring width of this "C"-spring adjustable.
CONSTITUTION: A projection 10 provided on a valve rotor 13 is projected outward through a through hole 16 made on a valve sleeve 14. Another projection 11 provided on an output shaft 2 is projected outward through an engaging groove 15 provided on the valve sleeve 14. The said projections 10 and 11 are held by a "C"-spring 12 provided on the circumference of the valve sleeve 14a. The spring constant of the "C"-spring 12 can be adjusted by expanding/contracting the spring width. For the clearance between the spring 12 and the concaved end wall on the circumference of the valve 14, which is created by contracting the spring width for the adjustment of the spring contant, the play in the spring can be prevented by inserting a spacer 18.
