Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain strong muddy substance low in water content and excellent in dehydrating property by applying mechanical dehydration to sludge pretreated with a high polymer flocculant after processing including heating.
CONSTITUTION: Muddy substance S-1 and a high polymer flocculant P are supplied to pretreatment process 1. They are mixed and agitated by an impeller and water flow, and flocks or pellets are formed as pretreated muddy substance S-2. The flocks or pellets are then supplied to heating process 2. After heated to described temperature, it is fed to mechanical dehydration process and becomes dehydrated cake S-4 of low water content. The muddy substance mentioned above includeds night soil, sludge produced from sewage etc. As high polymer flocculant, cationic flocculant can be used for organic sludge, and nonionic or anionic flocculant can be used for inorganic sludge.
