Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a layered metal endless belt having a long service life by preventing the fatigue breakage, by providing the opposite sides and parts adjacent thereto with a compression stress in the circumferential direction.

In this case, press rolls 2, 2' slightly narrower than the belt 1 in the direction of the width prevent compression buckling of the belt 1. Thus fatigue breakage that will otherwise start from the lugs can be prevented, and therefore a product having a long service life can be obtained.
