Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the generation of leak current and reduce excess energy consumption by disposing plural dust collectors between oppositely disposed electrodes, and inserting insulators between these electrodes and dust collectors.
CONSTITUTION: Plural sheets of dust collectors 11 are disposed superposedly between mutually oppositely disposed electrodes 10A and 10B in parallel with said electrodes. The collectors 11 are corrugated boards having corrugating media 11b on one side of flat liners 11a, and the spaces therein serve as fluid flow passages. Insulators 13A, 13B, 13C are held in place respectively between the electrodes 10A, 10B and the collectors 11A, 11B adjacent to these as well as between the arbitrary collectors 11C, 11D and themselves. If dust-laden, water-born fluid is purified with this device, the water contents are captured by the collectors 11, and despite the decrease in the electric resistance of the collectors 11, leak current hardly increases because the insulators are interposed.
