CONSTITUTION:The curvature R is different depending on directions such as the vertical axis direction, horizontal axis direction, and arbitrary directions in the relation to a shadowmask 32 and panel 31. Therefore a mask configuration the curvature of which varies continuously is needed, and the optimal Q-value can be obtained throughout the entire service area of the screen by making the cross section configuration sectioned in a plane including at least the tube axis in a form represented by an equation-I. Thus mask molding curvatures which are applicable to all color picture tubes can be given, and a high quality picture tube can be obtained.
