Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a crown material of a tooth having improved wear resistance, water resistance, compression strength, and transparency, by selecting a crosslinkable high polymer and a monomer in such a way that the difference between the refractive index of the crosslinkable high polymer and that of the polymer of the monomer is made ≤ a specific value.
CONSTITUTION: A crosslinkable high polymer and a monomer are selected in such a way that the difference between the refractive index of the crosslinkable high polymer and that of the polymer of the monomer is made ≤0.01 (preferably ≤0.003), to prepare a crown material of a tooth. By making the refractive indexes of the two ingredients close as much as possible, its transparency becomes good, absorption is reduced, and wear resistance is extremely improved. A polymer of an unsaturated carbonate shown by the formula (R is saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon residue; R' is unsaturated hydrocarbon residue; n is 1W3), unsaturated ester of epoxysuccinic acid, unsaturated ester of tartaric acid, etc. may be preferably used as the crosslinkable high polymer, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, etc. as the monomer.
