PURPOSE:To resume copying operation quickly after exchanging of photoreceptors by continuing controlling of a heat fixing device although the copying operation is inhibited when a switch setting a photoreceptor exchange mode is turned on. CONSTITUTION:When a photoreceptor exchange mode switch DSM is turned on, copying operation is inhibited preferentially, and a photoreceptor exchange mode is set, but the on-off control of the fixing device is continued. In this state, if a photoreceptor exchange switch MCS is turned on, a power relay RAI is turned on, and a drum position switch CAM is turned off, then plate discharging is started, and the plate discharging is completed via prescribed steps. Thence, a new photoreceptor is set and again the switch MCS is turned on, whereby plate feeding is accomplished. Thereby, the operation of the fixing device at the exchanging of the photoreceptors is inhibited, and therefore, the copying operation is quickly resumed after the exchange work.
