Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a method and a device for measuring the amt. of fine powder in two-phase flow consisting of fine powder and air by providing a sampling pie to a transport pipe in which the fine powder and air flow, and making the velocity of suction of said sampling pipe equal to the flow speed of the air in the transport pipe. CONSTITUTION:An orifice 26 and a sampling pipe 2 for measuring the amt. of air with an operator 28 for flow speed of air via a signal line 27 are provided to a transport pipe 1 in which air and fine powder ascend perpendicularly. The air and fine powder sampled with the pipe 2 are fed through a hole 3 into a cyclone 4, where they are separated to the air and the fine powder. The fine powder is collected in a capturing bottle 5 in the lower part of the cyclone and its weight is measured with a measuring device 6. The air is discharged through a flowmeter 20 and a valve 22 then through a pipe 25 into the atmosphere by a blower 24. Further, the opening of the valve 22 is regulated by a valve opening operator 30 receiving the output of the operator 28 so as to make the flow speed of air of the pipe 1 and the velocity of suction of the pipe 2 equal. With such constitution, the amt. W of the fine powder in the transport pipe is given by the equation with respect to the amt. (w) of the sampled fine powder and therefore the amt. of the fine powder in the transport pipe is determined.
