Abstract
PURPOSE:To avoid a short break of an optical information when viewed from the output side optical fiber, by securing a continuous variation in the adverse relation to each other with the volume of light which is delivered even by a shift of the switching position of the mobile optical element of the optical switch. CONSTITUTION:In case a fault occurs to the optical repeater 1, the mobile optical element 34 of the optical switch 23 plus the mobile optical element 44 of the optical switch 24 are switched to the 2nd and 4th switching positions each. Thus the optical information is transmitted to the optical fiber transmission line LA of the input side. In such case, the optical information is supplied to the optical fiber bypass circuit 2 through a route of the input terminal 31 of the switch 23-lenses 35 and 37-output terminal 33 and without passing through the element 34, and then bypassed to be transmitted to the optical fiber LB of the output side through a route of the input terminal 42 of the switch 24-lenses 46 and 47-output terminal 43 and without passing through the element 44.
