Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a vermin repellent effective to inhibit the intrusion of vermins such as cockroach, mosquito, rice weevil, ant, etc. and prevent the staining with the vermins, by using a specific thiocyanate compound such as 2-phenoxyethyl thiocyanate as an effective component.
CONSTITUTION: A vermin repellent is prepared by using a thiocyanate compound of formula (n is 2W7), e.g. 3-phenoxypropyl thiocyanate, 4-phenoxybutyl thiocyanate, etc. The agent is usually mixed with proper additives such as carrier, and formed to a desired form. The amount of the effective compound is 1W80wt%, pref. 5W 40wt% in case of using as a liquid preparation, such as dispersion, wettable powder, etc., and 1W50wt%, pref. 2W20wt% in case of using as a solid preparation such as powder. When the compound is impregnated in a sheet or a part of furniture, the amount is pref. about half of the saturated amount in the sheet, etc.
