Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent clogging of a header by providing a liquid supply port and a discharge port in a manner as to produce liquid flow in parallel to header faces and partly circulating supply liquid in a method of supplying colloidal raw liquid to the inside surfaces of hollow yarn membranes and filtering and concentrating the same. CONSTITUTION:Colloidal raw liquid such as paints, soy source, liquor, emulsion, latex, and suspension of pigments etc. is supplied to the membrane inside surfaces of the hollow yarn 4, 4' of a module bundled with hollow yarn, whereby it is filtered and concentrated. The raw liquid is sent by a liquid feed pump 9 from a raw liquid tank 8 into a raw liquid supply header, in which it produces the liquid flow parallel to header faces 3, thence it enters through a raw liquid supply port 2, which is so formed as to wash the header faces 3, and comes out from a raw liquid discharge port 5, thereby returning to the raw liquid supply side through a circulating circuit 10. Part of the raw liquid flows into hollow yarn 4, 4', and is thereby treated. This liquid returns to the raw liquid supply side by flowing through a raw liquid discharge header 6. The penetrated liquid goes out from a filtrate outlet 7. Thus, the header faces which are most likely to be clogged are washed and will no longer clog.
