Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable displaying of multiple lateral faces of three-dimensional images and displaying to multiple persons to be performed by picking up the three-dimensional images projected on a hologram by using two units of television cameras and projecting the mutually independent parallax images on two units of image receiving tubes.
CONSTITUTION: The three-dimensinal image 3 projected on a hologram 2 by laser light is picked up as right and left parallax images by two units of television cameras 5, 6, and the video signals thereof are sent to a display device, where they are projected as independent parallax images on two units of image receiving tubes 7, 8. If an observer M observes these images through lenses 10, 11, he is able to see a three-dimensional stereoscopic image 9. If the respective lateral faces such as top, bottom, right, left, and back of the three-dimensional image 3 are taken, the video signals corresponding to these are obtained, and the observer is able to observe the three-dimensional images of the various lateral faces. If the video signals of the cameras 5, 6 are fed to multiple displays through phototelegraph, multiple persons can view the stereoscopic images.
